Ricky A. Saunders, Jr.

WORCESTER: Ricky A. Saunders, Jr. , 31, formerly of Worcester, died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 3, 2011, after becoming ill at his home in Mooresville, North Carolina. He leaves two sons, Joshua and Jacob Saunders; his mother and step-father, Roger and Christine (Steuterman) Burhans of Spencer; his father, Ricky A. Saunders, Sr. of Buffalo, NY; his maternal grandparents, Carol Poehler of New Mexico, Robert Steuterman of Florida; his paternal grandmother, Carol Marsh of Oregon; his aunt and uncle, Debbie and Darrell Freitas; and his two cousins, Stephen and Heather Freitas, all of California; and his companion of several years, Taralynn Karpinski. He was born at Fort Ord, CA, moved to Worcester in 1991, and graduated from Burncoat High School, where he was a three sport athlete. Ricky spent the last eleven years in the U. S. Air Force, mostly at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. He will be missed by his family, friends and loved ones from all over. MEMORIAL CALLING HOURS with Rickyâs ashes will be held from 1 to 3 P. M. on SATURDAY, APRIL 9, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. Burial of ashes will be at the convenience of the family.
