Robert J. Peterson

WORCESTER: Robert J. Peterson, 86, of 4 Varney St. , died Friday, August 19, 2005, in Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. His wife, Mary N. (Freitas) Peterson, died October 24, 1985. A son, Richard A. Peterson of Worcester, died February 1, 1986. He leaves a son Robert J. Peterson, Jr. and his wife Lola of Worcester; 3 grandchildren, Robert J. , Jill A. and Heidi F. Peterson; a great granddaughter, Saige M. Peterson; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Edmund Peterson and two sisters, Mildred Gardella and Olive Johnson, all predeceased him. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late Arvid F. and Anna A. (Ready) Peterson, and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. Bob worked more than 30 years at General Electric/Timex in Ashland until he retired in 1982. He previously owned and operated P & D Rug Cleaning Company in Worcester. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church and a past president of the Connie Mack Little League. He enjoyed watching golf and the Red Sox. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 10 a. m. on Monday, August 22, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. , followed by burial in St. John's Cemetery.
