Robert J. Peterson, Jr.

WORCESTER: Robert J. Peterson, Jr. , 63, of 4 Varney St. , died Monday, October 5, 2009, in St. Vincent Hospital, after a brief illness. He leaves his devoted wife of 40 years, Lola (Bianco) Peterson; a son, Robert J. Peterson; a daughter, Jill A. Peterson, all of Worcester; a sister, Maria E. Call of Oxford; a granddaughter, Saige M. Peterson of Worcester; and a niece, Heidi F. Peterson of Berlin. His brother, Richard A. Peterson of Worcester, died February 1, 1986. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late Robert J. and Mary N. (Freitas) Peterson. He graduated from Commerce High School in 1965 and attended Worcester Junior College. Bob was a Quality Control Inspector at Norton Company where he worked for 33 years, until he retired. After that, he worked as a Ranger at Green Hill Municipal Golf Course. He also worked in the Pro Shop at Green Hill and at Hillcrest Country Club in Leicester. He was a huge Patriots and Red Sox fan, an avid golfer, and enjoyed spending time with his family. CALLING HOURS will be held on THURSDAY, Oct. 8 from 9:15 to 11:15 A. M. in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. , immediately followed by a FUNERAL MASS at 12 Noon in ST. JOAN OF ARC CHURCH, 570 Lincoln St. After cremation, burial will be at the convenience of the family.
