HOLDEN – Robert F. Troy, age 84, died on February 16, 2024. Robert was born in Worcester on December 3, 1939. His wife, Jane Glass, the love of his life, predeceased him on May 13, 2014.
He leaves his daughter, Tammy Troy Shepard of Boylston, her husband, Mark, and daughter, Mackenzie. He also leaves his son, Matthew of Worcester, Robert and William of Wisconsin and their children, and twins in Connecticut, Amy and Daniel. Robert leaves his brothers, Joseph of Holden and Dennis of Worcester. His sister, Loretta, and brother, William, predeceased him.
Robert worked for many years for Friendly House, the social service agency in Worcester. Robert served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard for many years as a Sgt. And squad leader in a mortar platoon. In his retirement, Robert enjoyed volunteering and serving on the Board of Directors of Wachusett Earthday, where he had many friends.
Robert and his late wife enjoyed traveling in the Caribbean and Mexico and winter trips to Florida. They also enjoyed travelling around New England and to New York City during the opera season. Robert especially enjoyed gardening and nature walks. He lived a varied and satisfying life, most especially during his years in Holden.
