AUBURN: Ruth A. (Tamulis) Burke, 80, died Saturday, January 22, 2005, in UMass Memorial Healthcare- University Campus in Worcester, with her family by her side. Her husband, Augustine F. "Gus" Burke, Jr. , died November 2, 1987. She leaves six children, Augustine F. Burke, III. and his wife Susan of Auburn, John W. Burke of Auburn, Michael P. Burke and his wife Amelia of Worcester, Ruth E. Langlais and her husband Mark Hutchison of Brooklyn, Ct. , Ann M. Bouley and her husband Michael of Danbury, Ct. , Mary B. Paulsen and her husband Robert of Rutland; 11 grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Florence Burke of Worcester, Margaret A. Hickey of Auburn; nieces and nephews. Ruth was one of five siblings. Her brother, Peter P. Tamulis and her three sisters, Mary Liljegren, Petronella M. Tamosunas, and Agnes A. Knight, all predeceased her. She was born in Fitchburg, daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Dapkus) Tamulis and graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester. She lived in Auburn since 1948 and was a member of St. Joseph's Church. She worked many years as a nurse's aide at Clark Manor Nursing Home in Worcester and later as a housemother at Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing for several years, until she retired. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. CALLING HOURS will be from 4 to 7 p. m. on Wednesday, Jan. 26, in RICE FUNERAL HOME, 300 Park Ave. , Worcester. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 11 a. m. on Thursday, Jan. 27, in ST. JOSEPH'S CHURCH, 189 Oxford St. , Auburn, followed by burial in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.
