WORCESTER: Ruth E. (Brigham) Butterfield, 102, a resident of Moody, ME, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence in Worcester. Her husband, Eliot G. Butterfield died in 1990. She leaves her caregiver, Cynthia Perry of Auburn; five nephews, Bruce, Wayne, Mark, Scott and Peter Butterfield; many friends in Maine and several cousins. She was born June 14, 1910 in Worcester, daughter of the late Walter C. and Elizabeth (Clouthier) Brigham and was a graduate of Becker College. Ruth was a laboratory worker for the New Hampshire Racing Commission where she worked for many years until she retired. She was a member of the New Hampshire State Employees Association Local # 1984. Throughout her life she enjoyed golf, skating, snow skiing, boating and was an avid bridge player. She and her husband enjoyed extensive traveling during his military career and in retirement. A graveside service was held at the convenience of the family in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA. There were no calling hours.
