Sandra C. Girouard

Sandra Carol Girouard, beloved mother, Nana, sister, and friend, passed away on February 22, 2025, in Worcester, MA. Born June 24, in Los Angeles, CA, she was the cherished daughter of the late Louise Penta (Kiley) Thienel and Thomas Penta. 

Sandra’s greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandson, Robert Schroeder, who was her world. She shared a special bond with her daughter, Tyla Girouard, with whom she enjoyed trying new restaurants, watching reality TV, and cooking—one of her greatest passions. A proud Italian, Sandra believed in the power of food to bring people together, always making sure those around her were well-fed and comforted. Her warmth and generosity extended beyond her family to anyone in need of a meal, advice, or simply a listening ear. 

She will be deeply missed by her children, Tyla Girouard and Philip Girouard; her grandson, Robert Schroeder; her sisters, Debra Penta and Linda Curley; and her many friends and loved ones. Sandra also had a deep love for animals, treasuring the companionship of her cats and dearly missed pets over the years. 

Even in her final moments, Sandra was thinking of others, always putting her loved ones first. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love will be forever cherished. 

A memorial service will be held on March 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Kelly Cremation and Funeral Home, 154 Lincoln Street in Worcester, MA.
