Sedrick Abney

Sedrick W.  Abney, 45, of Worcester, passed away on October 5, 2024.Sedrick was born on March 12, 1979, in Worcester, the son of Larry Abney Sr, and the late Rebecca Jean Swaniker.

A jack of all trades, he worked various jobs throughout his life. Notably with the department of Youth Services and time spent working security. Sedrick had recently begun collecting coins and sports card memorabilia with his home New England teams being his favorites. Above all else, he adored his five children and loved spending as much time with them as he could. He will be truly missed by family and friends alike.

Sedrick leaves behind his five children, Zamayne Abney, Zylas Abney, Zyaire Abney, and their mother Lisa Santos of West Boylston; Azairya Abney, Azino Abney, and their mother Tiffany Sullivan of Worcester; his father Larry Abney Sr. and his wife Ellen of Worcester; his siblings, Larry Abney Jr, Dessree Abney, Tatyana Abney, Hansen Swaniker, Thomas Swaniker and Isaiah Keys; and his grandmother Eula Carter. Sedrick has accompanied his Mother Rebecca Jean Swaniker, Stepfather Hansen Swaniker Sr. Grandfathers John Henry Abney and Raeford Thompson, Grandmother Gracie Burt, and also joins Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends in rest.

Friends and family are invited to gather for calling hours on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 9:30am to 11:00 am, at Christ Tabernacle Church, 1189 Main Street Worcester. A funeral service will follow at 11:00am. Burial will follow services at Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester.
