Susan Robidoux

January 7, 1958 — March 22, 2024

Susan Robidoux,

January 7, 1958 to March 22, 2024

Susan Robidoux, 66, passed away on Friday, March 22 at home, where she was cared for and loved throughout her long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She leaves behind a devastated family: her partner of 35 years, Ken Murray of Sterling; her 3 children, who she shared with their father, James “Jack” Foley – her daughter Bridget Foley of Sterling, her “#1 daughter” Kelley Foley of Worcester, and her son Ryan Foley of Worcester; brothers Gary Robidoux of Worcester & Michael Robidoux of West Boylston; sisters Robin Fowler of Mississippi & Laura Robidoux of Worcester; she was predeceased by her sister, her kindred spirit, Marsha Gilbert of Worcester; her beloved grandchildren, who were the light of her life – Abby, Ally, Emily & Russell; Mariah, Mia, Ethan & Nathan; and Tyler & Rian; 3 Great-grandchildren – Maddie, Ivy & Sean; and so many nieces and nephews.

Born to Marion (Copeland) McCall and Richard Robidoux, she was born, raised and primarily lived in Worcester MA – where to the very end, she wanted to return to “my home,” where she grew up on Mattson Ave in Greendale.

Sue lived her life caring for others. She worked as a CNA in nursing homes and later at the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit of UMass University Hospital, from where she retired after being diagnosed with cancer in 2002. She lost her voice to the disease, but not her will to live – she fought various sickness, disease and injury for 22 years with a vigor and strength unmatched in this lifetime.  To the very end, this woman fought to live. We like to think she just loved us that much.

She loved sitting in the warm sun, tanning with baby oil on the beach at Hampton and, most of all, going to the White Mountains of NH.  Summers were spent camping with us kids, but in the fall, Mom and Kenny would go on their own and hike to the top of Mount Washington. It was her greatest joy in this life, and there she will be for the rest of eternity.

Calling hours will be on Saturday, April 6 from 10am-11am at Saint John’s Catholic Church, 44 Temple St, Worcester followed immediately by her funeral mass at 11am.  Her burial will be private at a later date. The family would appreciate donations in her memory made to St John’s Food for the Poor.
