Tracy Patricia “Platypus” Petrulavage, of Wormtown and beyond, daughter of Thomas Petrulavage and Susan Aucock, died on November 3, 2023, age 55 in Memorial Hospital after a long and hard fought battle with Stage 4 cancer and returns now to the universe at large.
She left behind an extended network of family and friends including her sisters Wendy, Sara Petrulavage and Lisa Gerardi, her children Steven ‘Stinky’, Sid ‘Vicious’ Petrulavage, Damion ‘Bub’ and Dorothy ‘Girlie’ Nolan, her treasured nephews Mike and Joe Gerardi and her good friends Alicia , Rana, Patrick, Michelle, Jeréme and Deborah.
In spite of her personal struggles, the thing that made her most happy was helping others, including giving advice, moderating the Mutual Aid Worcester facebook group, and feeding large amounts of people. She also enjoyed music, reading and laughing with friends until she cried or peed.
A self-described transient, she never felt comfortable owning more than would fit in a backpack and a garbage bag, as she moved around quite a bit. Hands up if she's ever crashed on your sofa! Despite her vagabond nature, the last years of her life were spent with her good friend, Patrick Dunn in his lovely home, with an extensive garden blooming around her. Their monthly summer backyard parties offered her an opportunity to see a lot of friends that she wouldn’t otherwise when she was in treatment.
Her life mantra was “I am here for entertainment purposes only.” Mission accomplished!
And of course she would say, “Goodnight, my beautiful babies!”
