WORCESTER – Virginia M. (LeMay) Reidy, age 98, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester. Born and raised in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred J. and Irene P. (Picard) LeMay. Virginia graduated from Commerce High School in 1944 where she excelled in basketball and field hockey. She married the love of her life, Robert Reidy, Sr. and raised her two sons in Worcester. She enjoyed annual trips to Hampton Beach, NH, with her children, brothers, and sisters, making many lasting memories. She took cruises throughout the Caribbean with her husband. Later in life, she enjoyed her many successful trips to Foxwoods with her sons. She stayed very active throughout her life, playing bingo, yoga, swimming and bowling. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching the games. Virginia was a longtime member of St. George Church in Worcester. Virginia is survived by her two sons, Dr. Robert J. Reidy, Jr. and his wife, Michelle D. (Methot) Reidy of Troy, NY, Dr. Ronald W. Reidy and his wife, Mary C. (Lowney) Reidy of Hopkinton; two grandchildren, Christopher R. Reidy (Molly Crawford) and Danielle M. Reidy; and a great-grandchild, Samara D. Reidy. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 70 years, Robert J. Reidy, Sr. ; her four brothers, Frederic W. LeMay, Andre G. LeMay, Michel J. LeMay, David E. LeMay; and three sisters, Marianne I. Roach, Jacqueline M. Metivier, and Therese M. Molony. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am on Friday, December 9, at St. George’s Church, 38 Brattle St. , Worcester. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster St. , Worcester.
