WORCESTER- William E. Bousquet, 82, of Worcester passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at the Rose Monahan Home surrounded by his family after a period of declining health. Born in Worcester, William was the son of the late Raymond and Florence (Wyman) Bousquet.
William worked for many years for the City of Worcester , retiring as a custodian from Roosevelt Elementary School in 2003.
He was a passionate sailor and spent many years sailing the waters of Rhode Island, and vacationing in Old Orchard Beach Maine and Oak Bluffs Martha’s Vineyard. When not relaxing on the beach, William could be found Quahogging along the shores of the Vineyard with his grandchildren, specifically the “Lagoon”. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
Working on cars and boats was a true talent he possessed. In the later years of his life, William would spend his spare time painting and carving as well as building model boats.
William was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a lifetime member of the Brown Square Civic Club.
William is survived by his beloved family. His daughter, LuAnn Bousquet and her significant other Robert Mazzone. Three sons, William Bousquet Jr. and his wife Barbara, Matthew Bousquet and his wife Michelle, and Marc Bousquet., his former wife and friend MaryLou Bousquet . William is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Shannon and Brianna Kelly, Jessica and Jacques Bousquet, Cassandra Bousquet and Gabrielle , Makenzie and Juliana Bousquet.
He is also survived by his great grandchildren Landon Bousquet and Elijah Cotto .
William is predeceased by his five brothers, Raymond, George, Chandler, Ernest and Robert Bousquet and his sister Barbara (Bousquet) Colacci.
The family would like to thank all his doctors and nurses at Umass Memorial and the wonderful and caring staff at the Rose Monahan Hospice.
Services for William will be held at Saint John’s Church on 44 Temple street in Worcester on January 27th, with calling hours 10-11am and funeral mass at 11am, all at the church. Arrangements are under the care of Kelly Cremation & Funeral Care, 154 Lincoln St., Worcester.
