WORCESTER: William C. Batchelder, Jr. , 60, of 8 Simmons Ave. , died Monday, Oct. 25, in UMass Memorial Healthcare - Memorial Campus, after a long illness. He leaves his wife of 13 years, Denise F. (Johnston) Batchelder; three sons, William and Michael Batchelder, both of Worcester, Daniel Nagle of Oxford; a daughter. Dawn Nagle of Worcester; two brothers, Barton Batchelder of Tonasket, Washington, Kevin Batchelder of Jackpot, Nevada; two grandchildren, Matthew Batchelder of Grafton, Marie Santana of Worcester; several nieces and nephews. He was born in Washington, D. C. , son of the late William C. Batchelder, Sr. and Elizabeth (Lausser) Batchelder and lived in Ho-ho-kus, New Jersey before moving here in 1964. He graduated from Storm King Prep School in Cornwall on the Hudson, NY and Leicester Junior College. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded a Purple Heart. Bill was an Export Correspondent at Norton Company where he worked for 30 years before retiring in 2001 due to illness. He was an avid Red Sox fan, Coached Youth Baseball and was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church. CALLING HOURS will be from 5 to 8 p. m. on Thursday, Oct. 28, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10 a. m. on Friday, Oct. 29 in ST. JOAN OF ARC CHURCH, 570 Lincoln St. , followed by burial in Hope Cemetery.
