AUBURN: William H. Reidy, 79, died Monday, January 22, 2007, in St. Vincent Hospital, after a brief illness. He leaves his wife of 55 years, Helen R. (Safko) Reidy; his son, Dr. Dennis M. Reidy, of Auburn; his daughter, Katherine E. Reidy-Shablin and her husband Atty. David V. Shablin of Auburn; his brother, Robert J. Reidy and his wife Virginia of Worcester; and two nephews, Dr. Robert J. Reidy, Jr. and his wife Michelle of Mayopac, New York, Ronald W. Reidy and his wife Mary of Hopkinton. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late Dennis J. and Katherine E. (Murphy) Reidy. He graduated from North High School and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He lived in Auburn since 1951. Bill was owner and president of F & R Office Products, Inc. in Worcester, which he co-founded in 1972. He was an active member of St. Joseph's Church. He was a founder and the first Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Auburn Council No. 4158. He was also a member of the Worcester Kiwanis Club, the East Side American Legion Post and the Worcester Executive Club. He served as an incorporator and member of the board of directors for Bay State Savings Bank. In his younger days, Bill was a semi-pro hockey player. There are no calling hours. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, Jan. 25, in ST. JOSEPH'S CHURCH, 189 Oxford St. , Auburn. A private entombment service will be held at the convenience of the family in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum, Worcester.
